KESS
Kess the MC was first introduced to the hip-hop scene in 1993 when he was featured on a song called "Blow up the Spot" on Super Lover Cee & Casanova Ruds wild pitch EP release. With a reputation as a lyrical MC Kess made a name for himself in New York City engaging in ciphers with some of today's most legendary artist. After creating a buzz long before the days of fightclub and You Tube. Kess met with labels such as Atlantic and Def Jam however never found a deal that suited him. Until 1997 when KESS signed a development deal with independent label AV-8 records. Under the production of The Undercover Brother and Kenny Dope KESS released Against the Law part 1 & part 2. Against The Law part two produced by Kenny Dope received airplay on the N.Y.C underground radio shows of the 90's such as, Stretch Armstrong and Papito the Barber's 89.9. As Against The Law pt 1 Appeared on many of NYC harder Mixed tapes that circulated the underground street scene. Against The Law pt 1 would later become a underground classic. Produced by the undercover Brother one half of the legendary production team the Nubian Crackers. Against the law showcased Kess's rhymes over a hard-core classic 90s melodic beat. Far before any other MC's had mentioned the New World order or the illuminati. Kess brought us into the subject with lines like " illuminati keep every body taking losses, while true crime boss's stay mounted on pale horses" Making reference to the book behold the pale horse and other government plots to kill off hip-hop culture.
